Coach Mark Kendall
Head Coach and Owner/Director of SpeedSHOT Racing
USAT, USCF, NSCA:CSCS
As
a USA Triathlon and US Cycling coach, Mark has worked with athletes
of all abilities to guide their athletic development. He also
balances his background by coaching masters swimming and working
as a physical therapy aide in Portland.
Mark's
coaching philosophy is to provide individuals the highest opportunity
for success and excellence through high quality workouts, consistent
speed work, and the creative mix of coaching and science. With
a blend of his competitive experience and an exercise physiology
background he helps the athlete spend the least amount of time
for the greatest benefit.
As an accomplished age-group competitor in the Pacific Northwest
in both duathlon and triathlon and has competed in long and short
course racing for 10 years. He was the PNW Regional Long Course
Champ (Men 20-24 in 1996). Mark is also a 3-time team captain
and 4-time member of Team USA at Short Course Worlds for Duathlon.
Recently Mark finished his season at the Age Group Pan American
Championships, by taking 2nd overall and winning his age-group.
Coach Mark holds a B.A. of Exercise and Sport Science with focuses
in Physical Therapy and Stress Management & Biofeedback. He
currently holds certifications as a USA Triathlon Level I and
USA Cycling Coach, as well as maintaining his certification through
NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
