SpeedSHOT Racing is, in a word, FAST. Under the tutalage of coaching guru, Mark Kendall, SpeedSHOT Racing looks to be a fixture at the top of race in the northwest.
Mark Kendall is a… …freaking genius. I woke up this morning and couldn't fall back to sleep so I went to the pool to complete the 400TT and workout. My last 400TT was 6:05. This morning I swam it in 5:42. HOLY SH*$! There's no way I'm falling back to sleep now. I'm totally amped up.
Thanks again coach. I could not have done this without you. Think about it..... I've only been with Speedshot since November and you have coached me to 4 consecutive PR's in distance running. And today you coached me to 27th place (out of 500?) and 3rd in my division in my first triathlon. Numbers speak for themselves.
So I have to tell you- I swam this morning and my legs are finally back at least in the water and I have been really working on what you showed me and it feels amazing. Honestly, I feel like I have so much power in the water - more than I have ever had before and that says alot because I have been swimming pretty much my whole damn life!!!! thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coach, First off, thank you for everything you have done for me. I couldn't have been successfull as I have been without you. You keep me from "over doing it" when I am on the verge. You are there for me at the important races to help me relax and have faith in the training I have put in. Heck, you even DNF'd in a race we were both doing just to be there for me when I crossed the finish line in 1st place overall. What more can I ask for in a coach?? I have followed your instructions as closely as possible for the last two and a half years and have had success in every single race.
Thank you for being my coach and thank you for becoming one of my best friends.
Thanks for the call tonight. It's good to hear how you put things into perspective and use your experience to look at the broader picture. Like anything else done professionally, there is a whole new way to approach challenges that makes the process all the more fun and intriguing. Thanks for you guidance and commitment to teaching an old dog new tricks. I'm having a great time. On to the next race! Get some sleep tonight.
Thanks Mark, felt like that was priceless work in the pool. I'll pass that on to all I know!
The Grand Columbian was a few weeks back and it couldn't have gone any better. My swim time was my best ever, the bike was challenging but I cruised through it, and I felt fantastic on the run. I was surprised at how strong and good I felt. I went in expecting to do 6:00 - 6:30 and came in at 5:41. Thanks for your help and guidance, it came down to pace and nutrition (which I practiced) and it was an amazing experience. Now, of course, I am contemplating the iron distance.
On another note, I wanted to thank you for your help in achieving my first Ironman. I was well prepared and had a great race plan going in. The race exceeded my every expectation…
Guess what? That water polo drill you had me do last week was the key to my new found speed. Just wanted to say thank you for all your help and encouragement.
Awesome! Thanks a lot coach. I gotta say, I have a whole new motivation as far as competition goes. Now I KNOW that I have the right body chemistry to make it to the top, along with my will and determination, as long as i keep working and working smart. Thanks for everything, could not have done it without you!
Mark taught me how to train smart. With his direction I can focus on the skills and technique. Mark understands where I am, what I want to accomplish, and has a wealth of experience to help me get to my goal. I feel confident and prepared when I stand at a start line. I’ve blown away previous years times with SpeedShot Racing and continue to improve year after year. I can compete at all distance levels from Ironman to Olympic triathlon: 10Ks to Marathons
I took your clinic last Saturday. I just wanted to thank you for a great clinic, I think my swimming is already a little better. I have a 3x500yd workout that I usually do, averaging about 9:25 per 500. This week I averaged about 8:50 for the workout.
I've been doing triathlons for over 20 years. After I became a masters athlete I decided I wanted to take it up a notch and become competitive in my age group. After a foray with one of those big impersonal online coaching services that left me over-trained and not a lot faster, I turned to Mark to give me what I was really looking for. I have now been with Mark for 2 years and am very happy to say that that I am much faster and healthier than I have ever been.
I have achieved my goals-I made it to ITU Worlds last year and will be going in 2007 as well. In addition, this year I set PR's in 3 different distances. Mark provides programs that produce results that are also balanced with your other commitments (career/family). I'm looking forward to another great set of results next year!
Your workouts have given me a lot of direction and focus (not to mention a kick in the butt)-- I really appreciate the edge that you're giving me. Sometimes I think I'm a little nutty to get so excited about all this race stuff, but I really enjoy it. Thanks for all your help.
FYI - got my cholesterol checked on Wed and got a call yesterday saying it had dropped about 54 points, LDL dropped like 30+ points. Pretty amazing. Dr. was impressed he called me himself to say excellent as he said that is hard to do without medications. SO - training is having a lot of benefit!
By the way big thanks. I was thinking yesterday...... I first started thinking about triathlons 15 years ago and with your help I have been able to attain a lifetime achievement. I am not sure I would ever have this experience, all the excitement, the joys, the people I meet, had it not been for our interaction and your training expertise, dedication, etc.
