Well done this weekend for Alanna Woods - ripping off a 3:09 marathon at the California International Marathon in Sacramento - nearly a 10min PR tim for her!
Congrats goes out to Josh and Sue for their performances on a tough and extremely challenging course at the Half-Max Long Course Triathlon Nationals. Coming in at 4:53 and 3rd in his AG Josh led the pair with Sue finishing in just over 6:15 (8th in her AG) and having a PR swim and outstanding ride!
Great job for the crew (Deann, Bob, Karon) finishing off their season at the Grand Columbian Half Ironman!
PRs again for folks at USA Triathlon Short Course Nationals. Nice Job Annie and Sue (8th AG and 15th AG respectively) - both PRs. As well congrats to Tim and Don for their performances!
Coach Mark finishing off his season joined Jeff in traveling to Ironman Wisconsin and under beautiful conditions ended up in 10:29 despite missing a majority of running mileage due to losing a battle with a car while commuting.
Jeff pulled out a great performance, finishing in 13:10, a huge PR from Ironman Arizona last year (and on a far more challenging course).
Congrats to Joshua for a great performance at the 2nd Annual City of Portland Triathlon, finishing 11th overall. We'll lok for you on the podium next year!
With a nice sized crew traveling north to Penticton, we were happy to come home continuing the habit of outstanding performances and PRs at the Ironman distance this year. Ted led the group with a huge 30 min PR, just nipping under 11 hrs with 10:59. Alanna (13th in AG) and Sarah, in their first Ironman, were the two gals in the group, coming up in 11:16 and 11:25 respectively. Training buddies - Jeff and Don just finished in 12:45 and 12:06 respectively - both in their first Ironman. Finally, but quite respected, was the outstanding finish of our more senior variety - Bert Good, who finishing in 12:40:35 completed an outstanding season of PRs including one at IM Canada by over 50 minutes.
At the 2nd Annual Hulamn and while defending last years title and his first career win (in his first half-ironman), Joshua battled it out with Aleck Alleckson bringing it home in 2nd place overall.
At the Oregon State OBRA TT Championships (40k), Allen finishes up riding a PR time of 57:51 (averaged 25.76 mph). Well done Allen!
A week later, Ted, Bob, and Karen headed up to Victoria BC for the New Balance 1/2 all finishing with PR performances. Ted led the group with 4:52, Bob in 5:04, and Karon 6:54 with a stellar run!
Big congratulations to the group at Ironman Coeur D'Alene (1 veteran, 5 first timers), all of whom finished strongly in beautiful conditions.. Jerry led the way with an 11:10, followed by Julie at 11:39 (13th in AG), and Mike (11:53 - a PR!). Sue ended up 6th in her AG (just missing Kona Qualifying roll-down) in 12:24 and was followed by Matt and Don in their first IM (13:12 and 13:56 respectively).
As a sizeable group heading down this spring, we were aiming for the Napa and Wildflower events (both on the same weekend) with the intent of getting a good early season prep race. We were pleasantly suprised to come home with a victory by Josh, his 2nd in his 2nd Half-Ironman. A great race and well earned in the warmer climate of NorCal. What a great time of year to be traveling in NorCal!
